JFK Sterling Race 09/25/2010

Posted Wednesday, September 29, 2010 by John Murray
The John Jay Cross Country teams brought home some hardware last weekend at the JFK Sterling Invitational. The race course had been altered due to the construction at JFK so there are no new official records. However, Jake Petrillo (3) ran a blistering pace of 15:59 in the hot humid morning. His time as well as the other JJ Boys helped them secure a fouth place finish.  It is believed that the current standing JJ record would have been broken if the course had not been redirected. The John Jay Girls led by Emma Wisdom (4) 19:50 ran the overall fastest time as a team, but finished in second place based on finishing positions, missing first place by one spot. The teams are beginning to peak as they head into the Brewster Bear Invitational this weekend.
